Supercharged 4 cylinder fun for everyone!
Ok well today RIPP Mods started up Davin's supercharged 4g64 powered galant. They said it started up strong and just have a few more issues like fuel delivery and resizing certain parts before its released back to Davin. This is a nice step for all you 4g64 guys so stay tuned for updated info as we get it
here is the message written by Ross from RIPP
"OK guys, today is the first day we started the 4CYL RIPP SDS. It's been 3 months and we finally got it done. The owner (Davin) was there as we made the finishing adjustments. The system is supper clean looking it mounts the SDS right in front of the trans in that big empty space.
We worked on it all morning and once we had the belts and bolts all tight, the time came to bring the SDS to life. The car cranked over and started right up, the SDS whirled to life and the whine of the turbine sounds mean as hell. Throttle response is insane, the engine spools right to life now. no more slow revving.
Now the only thing left is fuel and timing, as well as one redesign of a boost hose. After-which we will lay down some HP and prove our power making ability on the 4cyl, then we will finalize cost and post pricing.
Our Thanks go out to Davin for being so patient with us. He knows we would have been done weeks ago but our machinist had complications with other jobs he needed to take care of first before he was able to work on our stuff.
Ross from RIPP followed up by saying this
"The Black box will make the kit more affordable. Since its our own product we control the $ing. We will be including a fuel pump with this kit as well as ther 6cyl kit. Once the Boxes are done all you will need to worry about is traction.
Internals are not going to be an issue as we will be controlling fuel amd timing, remeber its not boost that kills engines its timing. If you don't have proper fuel managment you can never be running safley. We preomise to be the most powerful and safest bolt on kit avalible, the proof is with the 6cyl cars already.
They are shooting for a safe 80-100hp increase with the mods posted above and their tuning services on the dyno, they are going to post dyno numbers in the next comple days, check for them here... looks like someone could be gettin some balls pretty soon
there is also talk of this kit being able to fit the 7g 4g64 as well
We figure a production price of $3395.95-$3595.95* (price will vary in very small figures here and there this is very safe on the high side right now.)
